Going Green

How We’re Working to Protect Our Planet
For decades, we’ve led our industry in operating with respect for the environment. Long before sustainability became a widespread concern, we adopted an Environmental Vision and Management Policy that guides every part of our business.

Responsible Paper Sourcing
Nearly 100% of our paper comes from suppliers who use responsibly managed, decades-old tree farms—land specifically planted, harvested, and replanted to ensure a continuous, non-public supply of paper pulp. These tree farms support sustainable forestry practices while preserving land from commercial development.

Commitment to Recycling
Each month, we recycle thousands of pounds of paper. While the financial return covers only a small portion of the cost, we consider the environmental benefits well worth the investment.

Choosing Sustainable Materials
- We use recycled papers whenever possible—and encourage our partners to do the same.
- Our inks and toners are biodegradable and recyclable.
- Our chemicals and solvents are almost entirely water-soluble, biodegradable, and recyclable. Although these products often cost more, we believe they are the responsible choice.

Reducing Resource Consumption
We continually implement programs that reduce electricity use and minimize our consumption of raw materials. Even small, incremental improvements add up to a significant positive impact over time.

Encouraging Digital Workflows
We invite our customers to support our sustainability efforts by using our digital ordering, proofing, and reordering system. This streamlined process reduces travel, conserves fuel, and minimizes the use of additional resources.

Why Print Is Part of a Healthy Environment
Printing and sustainability can absolutely coexist—and, in many ways, printing supports healthy forests.

Forests Are a Renewable Resource
Sustainable forestry is a global industry that provides jobs for millions of people. Because of improved forest management practices, there are actually more trees in many regions today than there were a century ago. Trees used for paper are part of a renewable cycle: as mature trees are harvested, new trees are planted in their place.

Forests Benefit Us All
Forests provide clean air and water, support wildlife habitats, store carbon, and contribute to a balanced ecosystem. Using responsibly sourced paper supports these managed forests and helps ensure they continue to thrive.

The Facts
- Our current forest volume is greater than it was in 1900, demonstrating that responsible paper use does not harm forests.
- The paper industry encourages replanting, regeneration, and responsible land management.
- When we continue to use paper, we sustain demand for responsibly grown trees—supporting both the environment and the communities who rely on forestry.

Printing With Purpose
Choosing print, especially when responsibly sourced, supports sustainable forestry and ensures forests remain healthy, productive, and protected for future generations.

Print thoughtfully. Print responsibly. And yes—it’s okay to print.
